Warning, Warning, Warning!!!

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING!!!

Dear NMAR Members,

Please be cautious and you may even want to warn your sellers:

A man has approached seller's homes asking to see the inside.
His car does not approach the home but is parked in the area.
He is clean cut with blue/green eyes and drives a red/burgundy suburban station wagon type of vehicle.
The vehicle may not be visible when he approaches the home.
To our knowledge he has approached two homes but possibly others that we do not know about.
Yesterday he was wearing clothing with a lot of pockets. We don't know what was in the pockets.

It could be simply a man trying to do his own dealing.
However, in one instance, when asked to contact the homeowners agent the man did not follow up.
Therefore he could be a person bringing danger to a homeowner.

If his intentions are bad enough he may eventually ask an agent to set an appointment.
Remember to be aware of anyone who makes you feel uncomfortable.
Homeowners have been murdered and/or robbed as have agents. Both male and female agents have been raped and murdered.
This is not a joke or a scare story. It is real life in this industry.
We have been spared in the past when our members reported situations and in two past instances men were arrested who had warrants out for them for rape in another state.
If it were not for our members acute awareness and willingness to let us know of these situations one of members may have suffered the results.

Never go show a property without others knowing where and when and who you will be with.
Review our safety information on the website and/or check out the safety video.

Thank you and remember that we have this system available to warn each other.
Better to use it and be safe.

Kathy
